Day: May 21, 2022

Contemplative

If the earth stopped revolvin’
  And gravity ceased
And you tumbled through space
  Like lightnin’ that’s greased,

Thrown from the grasp
Of a blue ball that’s spun
Upon which you ride
  As you circle the sun,

As you mix with the stardust
  Like salad that’s tossed,
Would we miss your acquaintance,
 Take note of the lost?

Will memories hold
  Onto memories of you?
Will they favorably measure
  The things that you do?
