The Renaissance City, The soul of the state, The jewel of Essex Is doin’ just great. Gleaming new towers Arise from the dust; A mask for the city’s Core criminal lust. Eight days of the New Year, It’s barely begun, And five people gone, Shot dead by a gun. The mayor’s crime plan So subtle, sublime; ‘You eliminate victims You eliminate crime.’ So as each person’s killed There’s one less to kill; The crime thus reduced And a pledge he’ll fulfill. Thumbs up for the thugs Who are rulin’ the street; When everyone’s gone The crime we’ll defeat.Leave a Comment
