simple verse from a simple man

They're quite a pair
My dog and cat -
Rocky's one-eyed
And Walter's just fat.

A dog with some flaws
And a cat with some weight,
From shelters the twain,
Together by fate.

The three of us sharing
A mighty small house -
All of us single,
There's nary a spouse.

A veritable pad
Of bachelors you see,
Living the life
In a land of the free.

Sharing the morning,
Sharing the night,
The day in between
No others in sight.

A cozy arrangement,
These solitude friends -
For each to the other,
Their company lends.
