Erosion

Feeling falters,
Heart is cold;
Senses shrivel,
Once extolled.

Colors bleed
To neutral stains,
Peaks and valleys
Laid to plains

Attenuating
Latitude
Of sentiment
And attitude.

Hurdles once
We’d gladly vault,
Taken now
With grains of salt.

Scenes replayed,
There’s nothing new,
Every venue
Déjà vu.

We rise and fall,
From birth ascend
To mountaintops
And then descend.
